Young Teen Camp
Young Teen Camp is a week of programming tailored
to campers entering the eighth and ninth grades in
the fall. This week of camp features numerous outdoor
experiences including an outdoor adventure day, chapel
in the woods, and an overnight camp out. There are
also opportunities to try acting, kayaking, rock climbing,
and even producing a camp newspaper!
Since eighth and ninth graders are at a pivotal point
in their lives, having their character shaped by the
choices they make, the camping program is designed
to take each camper out of his or her comfort zone
and encourage them to focus on faith in Christ as the
compass for their lives.
About Your Junior Camp Director: John and Jennifer
Derochers
Beginning in grade school, John and Jennifer Derochers
were involved in Christian camping, with Jenn attending
Camp Timberledge in her youth. The couple even met
while working for a Christian camp and conference center
near Boston. After three years of employment there,
they departed with countless ideas for programming
which they now integrate into Young Teen Camp and the
annual Young Teen Fall and Spring Youth Retreats on
the camp premises.
When not working with the Camp Timberledge Young Teen
program, John is a US Postal Letter Carrier and Jennifer
is a full-time mom to their three young sons, Seth,
Gabriel and Nathan.
